Vitargo S2 Review
Vitargo S2 is actually not a protein powder. It’s the super soluble form of Vitargo®, which is a patented carbohydrate with no sugar in it.
If you’re looking for better endurance, and faster recovery and refueling for your muscles, Vitargo S2 is supposed to provide these results faster and better than other protein powders or carbohydrate-based products, and with no side effects or bloating.
So, will it actually be effective? Is Vitargo S2 a better product to use than the leading protein powder Myotein? Let’s see what the research says.
What Is Vitargo®
Other than natural flavors and colors, citric acid, and sucralose, the only ingredient in Vitargo S2 is Vitargo®. This molecular carbohydrate is supposed to be digested twice as fast as the carbohydrates commonly found in sports drinks and powders (e.g. maltodextrin and sugars).
The following results come from studies performed at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden and the University Nottingham in the United Kingdom:
• 2.3 times faster energy delivery to intestines
• 1.68 times greater glycogen recovery in the first 2 hours
• 1.23 times greater max endurance performance
What Does Vitargo® Do?
With this faster digestion and absorption, Vitargo® should quickly deliver nutrients and energy to your muscles and speed up glycogen refueling and muscle recovery.
And because it works so quickly, Vitargo® shouldn’t cause bloating or the “heavy stomach” feeling people often report with other carbohydrate-based products or cheap protein powders.
Myotein doesn’t provide fast energy like Vitargo S2 does. However, one reason it’s the leading protein powder is because of how well it refuels muscles and promotes faster recovery. Also, since Myotein has high-quality, proven protein, user reports of side effects are rare.

Flavors & Mixability
Vitargo S2 comes in 4 flavors: Natural Grape, Natural Juicy Orange, Natural Tropical Fruit, and Unflavored. Users say the Natural Grape flavor is the best and it’s followed by the Natural Tropical Fruit flavor.
Most people say Vitargo S2 mixes well in water, juice, milk, or smoothies. Some people even mixed with their whey protein supplements.
Users seem to like the flavors well enough, but the unflavored flavor tastes “like glue”. I recommend adding it to a flavored drink or smoothie instead of taking it with water.
When to Use It
Because Vitargo S2 is supposed to provide you with energy and muscle fuel, you’ll get the most out of it by using it when you work out. It can be used before, during, or after.
Although Vitargo S2 is supposed to be used instead of a protein powder, I think users would get better results by using it with a high-quality protein powder like Myotein. The reason why is that your body needs both carbs and protein for optimal muscle-building.
How to Use It
First of all, Vitargo S2 should only be used by people who exercise regularly and have intense workouts. In fact, the only warning that comes with this product is:
If you don’t train, don’t take this product.
If you use Vitargo S2 to supplement your workout, it should give your muscles the energy and nutrients they need. If you don’t, it will probably be difficult for you to lose weight, and you could even gain weight.
Whether you’re using a shaker bottle or a blender, it’s best to add the liquid first. For every 2 scoops (1 serving) of Vitargo S2, add about 10 ounces of fluid. You can add more or less if you want it to be thinner or thicker.
I recommend taking 1 serving a day for the first few days; just to see how your body handles it. Eventually, you can build up to 2-3 servings a day if you want more carbohydrates.
User Ratings
Out of 65 reviews, which I found on Bodybuilding.com, people gave Vitargo S2 an overall rating of 8.5 out of 10. This is a great rating. Only a few protein powders (e.g. Myotein) get higher ratings.
Buying Vitargo S2
Vitargo S2 comes in the following sizes:
• 10 servings (1.7 lbs.)
• 25 servings (4.2 lbs.)
• 66 servings
When you buy it on the official website, 10 servings costs $36.99 and 25 servings costs $69.99. The product ships in 1-3 business days, and they do have international shipping. If you want information about the return policy, you have to call customer service.
Vitargo S2 can also be found on Bodybuilding.com or at the GNC store and website. The lowest prices I could find online comes from Bodybuilding.com. It sells 10 servings for $32.99, 25 servings for $62.99, and 66 servings for $145.99.
Is Vitargo S2 Worth Trying?
With its clinically proven, patented ingredient, Vitargo S2 could be a great carbohydrate-based product; if this is what you’re looking for. The downside is that it’s very expensive.
If all you’re looking for is a good muscle-building supplement, I recommend Myotein. It’s a lot more affordable than Vitargo S2, and the official website offers a guarantee. Also, Myotein can be used by anybody; not just people who are following an intense workout program.
Or, you could combine Vitargo S2 and Myotein to get the benefits of energy-boosting carbs and muscle-building protein.
If you’ve tried Vitargo S2 before, I would love to hear your opinion. Is it a good product? Is it worth the cost?
